Gumla Woman Beaten to Death: Son-in-Law Among Three Arrested
Gumla: A man, along with two others, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly beating a 60-year-old woman to death at Poje Milga village in Gumla on Saturday night, police said.The deceased has been identified as Sushma Surin. The accused include her son-in-law, Bogan Surin, along with three other villagers — Sandeep Surin, Samuel Topno and Arlit Surin. Of these Sandeep is still on the run.After the attack, the victim’s daughter, Deepika Surin (32), walked nearly 10 km to reach Kamdara police station and lodged a complaint around 11 pm on Saturday against her husband and the three others.Officer-in-charge of Kamdara police station, Mukesh Kumar Surin, said, “We have arrested three of the accused, and raids are underway to nab the remaining one. The dispute was between the complainant and her husband, and both belong to the same village. We are investigating the incident.”
